Moscow participants of “Discovery within a Week” project won at the all-Russian Youth Science Compet

Our students from Moscow, Gleb Nevraev and Lyudmila Lakiza have become the winners of the Russian youth science competition "Vernadsky Readings"! Gleb and Lyudmila presented their paper named “Discovery of new variable stars in Antlia constellation with the remote telescope in Australia” with the assistance of Denis Denisenko. They had been selected from 20+ works submitted to the Astronomy section during the preliminary round. Only six papers were accepted for the second round. Our paper was among the top ones, but we kept our fingers crossed until the official end of the competition.

The final round of the conference was held at Moscow University and consisted of two parts: poster presentations and talks. Our discoveries, as well as NOOSFERA’s project on the whole attracted a lot of attention of other participants, their teachers, and the experts during both sessions. Our young discoverers had to answer many questions after their talk, and they did it really well! Gleb and Lyudmila were named the best participants in the Astronomy section of the Competition. They received their diplomas of laureates, but that was not all! They were also awarded real medals named after Vernadsky. Congratulations on their well-deserved achievement!
