On the 19th of April, 2016, with support from the Mayor’s Fund for London ‘Discovery within a week’ lessons began in two London schools. This project allows young fans of astronomy from the United Kingdom to make real discoveries.
London schoolchildren will start discovering new asteroids or variable stars by a unique method developed by the Foundation Noosfera.
The experience of running the project ‘Discovery within a week” in Russia showed that young participants being actively involved in searching for new stellar objects make outstanding discoveries. A good example of this is Platon Kachalin, who discovered 3 stars, later named in his honour.
The Education Support Foundation NOOSFERA wishes young fans of astronomy participating in ‘Discovery within a week’ success in searching for new stellar objects.
